Situation

While monitoring a load profile for a client, our analytics team noticed that the kilowatt demand reading for one particular month was significantly higher than previous months.


Solution

We contacted the client to ask if anything specific at the property would have caused this marked increase. Then we obtained the interval data to identify the specific day and hour in which the spike occurred. We then worked with the facilities manager and engineer at the property and discovered that there was no reasonable explanation for the spike.

Satori Energy instructed the utility to complete an audit of the meters at the property, and the audit revealed that a faulty meter had provided an erroneous reading. The utility switched the meter, and we ensured that the client received the proper credits.
